Recently, the news of Bollywood actor Govinda potentially separating from his wife, Sunita Ahuja, after nearly 38 years of marriage has caused a stir online. In response to these rumors, Arti Singh, the actor's niece and fellow performer, addressed the situation in an interview with News18, labeling the claims as "baseless gossip."

Arti on Govinda-Sunita's divorce rumours

Television actress Arti Singh discussed the relationship between Govinda and Sunita Ahuja, stating her perspective on the divorce rumors. She mentioned, "I am currently not in Mumbai, so I have not been in contact with anyone. However, I want to clarify that this news is false. These are mere speculations, as their relationship is incredibly strong. They have nurtured a loving bond over the years, so the idea of divorce is unfounded. I am unsure of the origins of these rumors—they are completely untrue. It is important for people to avoid spreading misinformation about their private lives. I have also faced similar unfounded rumors regarding my own marriage. Such baseless gossip only leads to unnecessary anxiety."

Govinda and Sunita Ahuja's divorce rumours

According to a source cited by ETimes, Sunita reportedly issued a separation notice a few months ago, but there has been no further development since that time. Govinda's manager, Shashi Sinha, commented to the portal on Tuesday, stating, "There have been some issues between the couple stemming from remarks made by certain family members. However, there is nothing more to it, and Govinda is currently in the process of starting a film, with artists visiting our office. We are working towards resolving the situation."

Govinda-Sunita's relationship

Sunita's initial encounter with Govinda occurred long before he achieved fame as a Bollywood superstar. Their paths crossed when he was completing his final year of Bachelor of Commerce, while she was in the ninth grade. They shared a familial bond, as her sister was wed to his maternal uncle, Anand Singh. Their relationship began to develop around the time Govinda was preparing for his debut in Bollywood. After dating for three years, they exchanged vows on 11 March 1987. Together, they have a daughter named Tina Ahuja and a son named Yashvardhan. The couple has not yet addressed the rumors surrounding their divorce.
