The only thing we hear about when we read two names in one line—those of Arshad Warsi and Rajkumar Hirani—is Munna Bhai 3. The filmmaker and his muse, who plays Circuit in the franchise, have been bombarded with questions about the project for years. They’ve been pretty cordial in answering them each time. However, a reunion between the two is something fans have been eagerly anticipating for years. And it seems like it has just happened. No, it isn't for Munna Bhai 3, but the actor is now onboard to play a co-lead in Hirani's latest venture. Rajkumar Hirani is making his way into the world of streaming with a series that will be released on Disney+ Hotstar. The show is now set to star Warsi, and here’s everything you need to know about this exciting update.

Arshad Warsi Onboard for Rajkumar Hirani’s Next

Tentatively titled Pritam Pedro, the show is being backed by Disney+ Hotstar, with Rajkumar Hirani working as a showrunner and producer. His assistant director, Amir Satyaveer Singh, will be helming the project under Hirani’s guidance. The show already has Vikrant Massey on board, and now, Arshad Warsi has joined as his co-lead. The drama, described as a "Man Friday" story, revolves around two cops who are polar opposites but must unite to solve cases. It appears we are about to witness a new buddy pairing in the world of Rajkumar Hirani’s cinema.

Currently in the pre-production stage, the show carries Hirani’s signature style—blending crime drama with humor. According to Bollywood Hungama, a source from the creative team revealed, “While Raju sir is known for his comedies, this series sees him explore a crime drama with his signature humor. He may even direct a couple of episodes himself.”

What Is Pritam Pedro About?

In Pritam Pedro, Arshad Warsi plays Pritam, a seasoned cop who believes in using traditional methods to solve cases. Vikrant Massey, on the other hand, portrays Pedro, a tech-savvy cop with extensive knowledge of technology, using it to crack cases. The two will likely team up to solve cases, leading to a clash of ideologies, as both characters are vastly different.

Rajkumar Hirani is planning to begin shooting Pritam Pedro in November 2025, if all goes according to plan. Initially, the filmmaker was scouting locations in North India, but he has now settled on the picturesque coastal vibe of Goa. So, the Vikrant Massey and Arshad Warsi starrer will be set in Goa, Mumbai, and Pune. There is no release window attached to the project yet.
