Arjun, the son of Vyjayanthi, is the latest film featuring Kalyan Ram, which premiered on April 18, 2025. The film has received a mixed reception, with numerous unfavorable reviews appearing online. Nevertheless, it achieved impressive box office earnings on its opening day, grossing Rs 6 crore, a surprisingly strong figure for a new release.

Recently, the film's team organized a press event where the esteemed Vijaya Shanthi, who portrays Kalyan Ram's mother, expressed her frustration towards the media and certain critics. "A troubling trend has emerged in the industry where films are subjected to harsh criticism. The more negative your review or feedback, the more attention it garners. This practice must come to an immediate halt," stated Vijaya Shanthi.

The actress from Osey Ramulamma remarked that the unfavorable reviews have impacted their film; however, audiences are enjoying it and returning to theaters. "The audience is discerning. If they appreciate the trailer, they will choose to see the film, and that is precisely what is occurring with our movie. Arjun S/o Vyjayanthi is expected to break even within the next two days, and we are planning a grand event."

This is not an isolated incident. A trend of online trolling and the dissemination of negative commentary about films has become prevalent in Tollywood recently. Directed by Pradeep Chilikuri, Arjun S/o Vyjayanthi tells the story of a police officer mother who confronts her son as he veers down a misguided path in life. This narrative has been depicted in numerous films previously, which did not resonate well with many viewers of this particular film.

On the second day, Arjun, son of Vyjayanthi, achieved a gross revenue of Rs 4 crore, which is a commendable figure. Kalyan Ram, the actor from Naa Nuvve and Patas, expressed his excitement regarding the film's reception, admitting that he did not anticipate such a successful launch.
