Reports indicate that the cast and crew of Mere Husband Ki Biwi experienced an accident on set while filming a song at the Imperial Palace, Royal Palms in Mumbai. The incident involved a roof collapse, resulting in injuries to Arjun, producer Jackie Bhagnani, and director Mudassir Aziz. Fortunately, there were no serious injuries among the actors or crew members, as Arjun, Jackie, and Mudassar sustained only minor injuries. The cause of the incident has been attributed to vibrations from the sound in the old hall, which led to the ceiling's collapse.
Ashok Dubey, representing the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE), informed that Arjun Kapoor sustained injuries to his elbow and head. Director of Photography Manu Anand suffered a fractured thumb, while the camera attendant experienced a spinal injury; however, none of the injuries were severe.
Choreographer Vijay Ganguly recounted the incident, stating that they were monitoring the shoot when the ceiling unexpectedly collapsed. Fortunately, it fell in sections, and they had a trough that provided some protection.
"Had the entire ceiling collapsed on us, the consequences could have been catastrophic, although several individuals were still injured. These older locations are frequently utilized for filming, and as production companies, we ensure that safety protocols are thoroughly checked. Nonetheless, there are instances where the safety of the location is not adequately assessed prior to being made available for shooting," he remarked.
Meanwhile, backed by Pooja Entertainment, Mere Husband Ki Biwi is an upcoming romantic comedy film that is slated to premiere on February 21 in theatres.
