Following the triumph of her latest film, Wicked, Ariana Grande addressed the rumours surrounding a possible musical tour in 2025. Speculation regarding her return to the stage emerged earlier this month; however, her record label promptly refuted these claims, clarifying that there are no plans for a tour next year.
In an open discussion with Variety, Grande expressed her appreciation for the chance to concentrate on her acting career, while also reassuring her fans that music continues to hold a significant place in her life. She remarked, “Music and being on stage will always be a part of my life.”
Grande doesn’t see a tour shortly
Grande acknowledged that she does not anticipate any immediate changes, as she intends to dedicate the next few years to exploring various artistic avenues. She expressed that acting currently feels like a comfortable space for her. The singer conveyed her gratitude for the support of her fans and noted that her experience with Wicked has contributed to her personal growth in multiple ways.
She reassured her fans that the lack of forthcoming tours does not signify her departure from music. Grande stated, "Music will always be a part of my life," and playfully remarked about the situation, saying, "I’ll perform at my mother’s house," as reported by Koimoi.
Grande on Wicked’s sequel
The singer disclosed that all individuals involved in the production of Wicked were aware of the sequel's existence, as the title was included in the original scripts and hard copies distributed to the cast and crew. She expressed her satisfaction with the official announcement. Grande remarked, “We were exploring various concepts, but the scripts have included it from the very beginning.”
She also mentioned that she and her fellow cast members had grown "quite fond" of the sequel's title. Grande stated that Wicked: For Good was “the ideal title” because the film had a profound impact on each of them. "The film franchise has transformed us all for good," she noted. The eagerly awaited second instalment of Wicked is scheduled for theatrical release on November 21, 2025, featuring Grande alongside Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba and Jonathan Bailey as Fiyero.
