Apoorva Mukhija Reacts to Backlash After India’s Got Talent Row, Comments on Nadaaniyan Debut
1 day ago | 5 Views
Apoorva Mukhija became involved in the controversy surrounding India's Got Latent last month. She appeared in the same episode as Ranveer Allahbadia, who made several inappropriate remarks that received significant criticism. In the aftermath, Apoorva chose not to promote Nadaaniyan, in which she played a supporting role, and she also did not attend the film's premiere. Recently, she responded to an Instagram reel in which an influencer discussed her acting abilities and fashion sense.
What Apoorva said
In a recent reel, influencer Sufi Motiwala provided an assessment of Apoorva's fashion sense and acting abilities in the show Nadaaniyan. Sufi expressed considerable admiration for Apoorva's style, noting that she is among the select few who truly understands what suits her. He also remarked that her talents were "severely underused" in Nadaaniyan, particularly given her proficiency in Hindi, which sets her apart from the other cast members.

Sufi expressed criticism regarding the actor's appearance in the film, noting that it starkly contrasts with her personal fashion preferences, which he described as 'jarring.' This observation drew a response from Apoorva, who remarked, “I received so much negativity that even Sufi Motiwala no longer makes disparaging comments about me.”
India's Got Latent controversy
She was alluding to the significant backlash that arose following the release of the "India's Got Latent" episode last month. During her appearance on the Samay Raina show, she joined fellow guests Ranveer Allahbadia and Ashish Chanchlani. In light of the ensuing controversy, Apoorva refrained from promoting "Nadaaniyan" and did not attend the film's premiere.
On Thursday, Apoorva expressed her gratitude to her followers through a message on her Instagram broadcast channel, stating, "Diwaaro ke bhi kaan hote hain" (Even walls have ears).
Earlier this month, Apoorva and Ranveer visited the National Commission for Women (NCW) office to submit written apologies. In a video shared by ANI last month, Apoorva was seen leaving the police station in Khar, where she evaded media inquiries and concealed her face with a mask.
