Stree 2’s mega success and the audience’s love for the horror comedy sequel have yet again proved the power of a good narrative and impressive performances. The movie not only elevated the star status of lead actors Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao but also opened new doors of opportunity for the ensemble cast, including Aparshakti Khurana and Abhishek Banerjee. Recently, Aparshakti Khurana, aka Bittu, shared his views on Stree 2’s unexpected blockbuster success and how the sequel changed the dynamics of his fame. He even dropped hints for the third installment, read on to get the full scoop.

Aparshakti on Stree 2 success and his character’s popularity

Stree 2’s characters and their comic timing have been winning hearts across the nation. From the haunting ‘Sarkata’ ghost to the bumbling leads and the chaotic supporting characters, each one has its own significance. Actor Aparshakti Khurana, who reprises his role as Bittu in the horror comedy Stree 2, has opened up about how the magnificent success and audience reception have added to his popularity.

The Luka Chuppi actor is currently on cloud nine and basking in the success of his recent release. When asked how he felt about the film's success, the actor reacted with joy and expressed his overwhelming emotions over the unprecedented numbers at the box office. Sharing his views on the massive box office numbers, Aparshakti told MoneyControl, “It's amazing to be back as Bittu, and it's even more amazing to see the love and acceptance we have gotten from the audience. The first one (Stree) was made at a very, very, very small, simple budget. That also did well, but these are unprecedented numbers.”

For the unversed, Stree 2 clashed with two films at the box office - Akshay Kumar’s Khel Khel Mein and John Abraham’s Vedaa. But despite stiff competition, Stree 2 emerged victorious with flying numbers. Aparshakti further explained that he did not expect the immense love and acceptance. The sidekicks, Janaa and Bittu, garnered praise from fans, which is quite overwhelming for him. Scenes like ‘Warm Chitti’ have grabbed eyeballs and elevated Khurana’s popularity in an impressive way.

"I think some comedy scenes have become such hits that people come and have already started stopping me, you know, on the football field, airport, telling me about how they loved the lori (lullaby) scene ‘Warm Chitti’. People are asking to sing it for them. My school friend called me, and he also praised that scene of me singing the lullaby. Warm Chitti.”

When will Stree 3 arrive?

Stree 2’s Bittu confirmed that the third installment will soon be announced, but it will still take some time for it. However, he highlighted that Stree 3 won’t be a longer wait for fans, unlike Stree 2, which took six years to return.

“I think Stree 3 will take some time, and Dinesh Vijjan (the film's producer) himself said at the press launch that he has plans already for Stree 3. I think it may be a couple of years. But it won't take six years, for sure,” he added.

Aparshakti Khurana has featured in a number of movies ever since he made his debut in Aamir Khan’s Dangal. Stree, Luka Chuppi, Badrinath Ki Dulhania, and Jubilee made him a known face in Bollywood.

Khurana will next be seen in Berlin, portraying the role of a sign language expert.
