Actress Aparajita Adhya’s Laxmi Puja is popular in Tollywood. Bengali TV’s Laxmi Kakima has Laxmi Puja wearing a saree and jewellery. She makes the idol and decks it up herself. This year also, the idol was decked up with a red and white saree, golden colored crown, and jewelry. However, she does not want grandeur this time and will have a homely puja. 

This Puja season, the actress is sad. Aparajita did not go to the pandal to play dhak or play sindoor with others. On the day of Dashami, after wishing Shubho Bijaya, she stated that she would not celebrate anything grand this Laxmi Puja, because women are regularly harassed in this world. 

Every year, Aparajita offers bhog in Laxmi Puja. She cooks it. But this year, only the essential rituals will be followed. She told it by sharing a video on social media on Sunday. In the Durga Puja of Behala Jagarani also, where she is an integral part of the Ashtami anjali or bhog or sindoor khela, she was not that active. 

Recently, Aparajita wrote on social media, “On the moonlit night of Kojagari Purnima, Goddess Laxmi comes to earth and asks every house–’ Who is awake?’ Those who are awake are filled with riches. Needless to say, this richness is the richness of mind and this awakening is the awakening of consciousness. 

“But we are facing a time when our Laxmis are fighting on the streets much before the Debipaksha. Every night, they leave question marks on the streets, “Whose mind is awake? Who is there to put this fight on their head?” 

“Everyone, especially my friends from the media, knows that I arranged a special celebration at my place on this day. But this is not happening this year. When there is so much insult of the real-life Laxmis every day, celebration of the puja is meaningless, despite worship being present. Hence I took the decision after much thinking. If the media friends need the puja’s photos and videos, my PR team will contact you. I pray that goddess Laxmi gives everyone the richness of consciousness.”
