On Wednesday, Anushka Sharma attended a brand event in Mumbai, marking her return to the city after an extended absence. At the event, the actor revealed that she and her cricketer husband, Virat Kohli, have felt the pressure to be the ideal parents. For the sake of her children, Vamika and Akaay, she also mentioned setting a good example.

Anushka Sharma on embracing imperfections in parenting

At the event, Anushka spoke about the immense pressure to be the ideal parent. She stated that it is permissible to inform children that their parents are not perfect and that they will occasionally vent. The children will be aware of their imperfections. Just think about the pressure that youngsters feel when they hear, "Oh, my parents are like this." So, it's easier if one owns their mistakes.

Anushka was candid about how becoming a parent altered her social life. She made it clear that she would only associate with those who shared her views, which is an extremely small group. Therefore, there is no need to worry about one's social life. She finds it confusing when people ask her out for dinner. Around the time they have dinner, one is likely munching on something small. The actor added that one has to learn to let go of things every once in a while or else people will despise them.

Setting a positive example for her children

Also, Anushka mentioned that she tries to teach her kids excellent morals. Instead of trying to instruct children, she and Kohli aim to set a positive example, she said. Her daughter is still quite little, and she has come to terms with that fact. The actor's doubts about her ability to instruct her are well-founded. They live their lives in this manner.

On a daily basis, she asked if they were expressing their thankfulness to those around them. Or do people appreciate all that they have in this life, and are people illustrating that with that? Anushka doesn't think there's much more she can tell her, since she thinks Vamika already knows that. One's expressions of gratitude will serve as a model for children to follow.

Focusing on the present and gently guiding children

She stated, "I will teach my child this and that," which is incredibly self-centred. One should feel thankful because their child will eventually do the same. One should savour every moment of their youth. If you ever notice them being disrespectful, you can gently guide them, but keep in mind that they are just children. She drew the conclusion that the best way to ensure that kids absorb the positive aspects of their environment is to set an example for them to follow.

In 2018, Anushka's last film appearance was alongside Shah Rukh Khan in Zero. Chakda Xpress, her forthcoming sports biopic on the life of Indian cricketer Jhulan Goswami, is now in the waiting room.
