Aaliyah Kashyap, the daughter of filmmaker Anurag Kashyap, married her longtime partner Shane Gregoire on December 11. Anurag expressed his emotions regarding Aaliyah Kashyap's wedding, describing it as a profoundly moving experience. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter India, he recounted his desire to leave the ceremony, a sentiment that was countered by his friend and fellow filmmaker Vikramaditya Motwane, who intervened to keep him there.

What Anurag said

Anurag shared, “I experienced a similar emotion when my daughter was born. I cannot explain why I was so tearful, but I was. The same occurred at her wedding; I believe I cried continuously for ten days. I cannot pinpoint the reason, and it happened in front of many unfamiliar faces.”

He further elaborated, “After the varmala and havan rituals at my daughter’s wedding, I found it overwhelming. I felt such a surge of emotion that I wanted to leave even before the reception started. As I was about to exit, Vikramaditya Motwane stopped me. He suggested we take a long walk, and after that, we returned.”
