Actor Anupam Kher is set to collaborate once again with Iain Glen, known for his role in Game of Thrones, in his upcoming film, Tanvi The Great. In a recent interview, Anupam shared insights into how Iain became part of the project, shedding light on the casting process.

In a conversation, Anupam, who previously teamed up with Iain in the British series Mrs. Wilson, recounted how he approached Iain for this role. He stated, “If you examine our cast, Iain Glen, who had a prominent role in Game of Thrones, is the only name that has been disclosed so far. This became public when he arrived at the airport, and someone recorded a video, following us to our filming location, which necessitated the reveal.”

Anupam further explained, “Iain Glen’s character is crucial to our film, and I sought a prominent, skilled international actor for this part. When I reached out to him, he requested the script. After reviewing it, he expressed his desire to join the project. That’s how he became involved.”

About the film

Anupam Kher is making his directorial return after a 22-year hiatus with Tanvi The Great. He announced the film on his birthday, March 7, last year, describing it as a ‘musical narrative of passion, courage, innocence, and joy,’ and revealed that he has been developing it for three years. Filming commenced on Maha Shivaratri. Anupam made his directorial debut in 2002 with the film Om Jai Jagadish, featuring stars such as Waheeda Rehman, Anil Kapoor, Fardeen Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Mahima Chaudhry, Urmila Matondkar, and Tara Sharma.

Tanvi The Great will include music by MM Keeravani, the renowned Oscar-winning composer celebrated for his work on RRR. The sound design is being managed by Resul Pookutty. In addition to directing, Anupam is also acting in several Hindi films, including The Signature, Kaagaz 2, Vijay 69, and others, such as The India House in Telugu.
