Actor Anupam Kher recently shared several photos from his visit to the home of the late actor and filmmaker Manoj Kumar to pay his respects. On Thursday, he took to Instagram to post images taken inside Manoj's residence. Manoj passed away in a Mumbai hospital on April 4.

In the photos, Anupam is seen standing in front of a large portrait of Manoj Kumar with his hands folded and his head bowed. In some of the pictures, Manoj's son, Kunal Goswami, is also present beside Anupam. For the occasion, Anupam opted for a blue shirt paired with jeans.

In his post, Anupam wrote, "Met #ManojKumar Ji’s friends and family!! And paid my tribute! Thank you #Manoj Ji for your contribution in my life! Both as an actor/director and as an Indian! Jai Hind! ❤️🇮🇳 #Bharat #Patriot." He tagged the location as Mumbai.

In response to the post, one fan commented, "Om shanti. Naman, his patriotic songs and lyrics give goosebumps to real Indians..God grant him salvation." Another wrote, "He will always live in our hearts." A third comment read, "Forever remembered as Bharat. Loved Purab aur Paschim. Om Shanti." An Instagram user added, “He was such an amazing actor. Not long ago, Anupam shared a video on Instagram where he reflected on how Manoj's movies influenced his childhood and fueled his love for the nation. He mentioned, "The very first film I remember watching was Upkaar. We used to have movie screenings in our neighborhood, and that was my first encounter with Manoj Kumar ji."

He continued, "Manoj Kumar ji played a significant role in igniting my sense of patriotism. India had just gained independence, and it was only 15-20 years later. The memories of the freedom struggle were still vivid. Manoj Kumar ji's films really deepened that feeling of patriotism in me."

Manoj Kumar passed away at 4:03 am on April 4 at the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai after a prolonged illness. Born Harikrishan Goswami on July 24, 1937, in Abbottabad (now in Pakistan), he became a legendary figure in Indian cinema, particularly during the 1960s and 1970s. He was lovingly referred to as "Bharat Kumar" due to his memorable roles in patriotic films like Upkar, Purab Aur Paschim, and Shaheed.

In addition to acting, he made notable contributions as a director and producer. His directorial debut, Upkar (1967), earned the National Film Award for Second Best Feature Film. Other successful films he directed include Purab Aur Paschim (1970) and Roti Kapda Aur Makaan (1974), both of which achieved critical and commercial acclaim.
