Ranveer Allahbadia and Samay Raina are in hot water after some comments made on Samay's show, India's Got Latent, blew up online. Ranveer dropped a disrespectful remark about parents, which sparked a huge wave of criticism. Meanwhile, another comedian, Anubhav Singh Bassi, is also in the news as his show in Lucknow has reportedly been called off. Keep reading for more details...

Anubhav Singh Bassi is having a tough time because of Ranveer Allahbadia and Samay Raina

Stand-up comedian and actor Anubhav Singh Bassi was all set to perform his show Kisi Ko Batana Mat at the Indira Gandhi Pratishthan in Lucknow on February 15. Unfortunately, the Uttar Pradesh Police turned down the request for the event, citing concerns over 'objectionable content' and potential 'threats from protestors.' As reported by the Hindustan Times, a letter from Aparna Yadav, vice-chairperson of the Uttar Pradesh State Women's Commission, urged the Director General of Police, Prashant Kumar, to cancel the show. The police withheld the NOC, pointing to security issues. A team member from Ankur Bhargava, founder of Oriole Entertainment, mentioned to HT, "We had our Agra show on Friday as part of the India tour, and we’re performing in Kanpur today. Unfortunately, both of our Lucknow shows were canceled due to threats from protest groups, leading to the denial of permission."

The cancellations happened because of the ongoing drama with Ranveer and Samay. They've got several FIRs and cases against them.

Here’s some info about the letter

Aparna Yadav, the vice-chairperson of the Uttar Pradesh State Women's Commission, shared a letter on her X account. She also uploaded a video where she stated, "Bassi's earlier videos, which you can find online, contain objectionable material. YouTube needs to take action and ban this kind of content; the state government should also step in to prohibit such shows and deny them permission. Any content that disrespects women, mothers, sisters, and families should be banned—not just Bassi or Ranveer Allahbadia, but anyone creating such harmful content that negatively impacts the youth."

Samay has finally spoken up about the ongoing case, sharing that he's been working with the agencies to ensure a fair investigation. He mentioned in his statement that he removed the videos from his YouTube channel. While a lot of people are backing him, there are also some who are calling him out for his inappropriate comments.
