Filmmaker Raj Mehta's 2019 movie, Good Newwz, featured Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Diljit Dosanjh, and Kiara Advani in the main roles. Anjana Sukhani also had a significant role as Akshay's sister in the comedy-drama. Now, more than five years after the film came out, Anjana has expressed that she felt sidelined during the promotions for Good Newwz. She mentioned that she was 'totally overlooked' throughout the whole promotional campaign.

Anjana Sukhani feels left out during the promotions for Good Newwz

In a chat with Bollywood Hungama, Anjana Sukhani acknowledged that the main stars of Good Newwz (Akshay, Kareena, Kiara, and Diljit) are the 'biggest superstars.' Still, she feels her role in the film was crucial. Curious about her reasoning? "It's because my character is the one who really encourages her brother to say, ‘Please do it this way,'" she explained.

The actress shared that she might have been a bit out of the game for a year or two before landing Good Newwz. She was surprised that the team didn’t take her along for all the promotions.

"I didn’t think they’d bring me along everywhere since it’s about two couples—totally get that—but to leave me out of all the promotions? I just don’t get the marketing plan," Anjana said.

She also remembered getting in touch with Akshay, who co-produced the film, to share her worries. The actress expressed that she felt 'hurt' for not being part of the promotions at all. Eventually, Akshay took her concerns seriously and set up a press meeting where she could engage with the media.
