Angelina Jolie's Strategy: Delaying Divorce with Brad Pitt for Personal Reasons
2 months ago | 5 Views
Angelina Jolie has been accused of deliberately prolonging her divorce from Brad Pitt to extract both emotional and financial distress from her former spouse, ultimately leading to an $80 million settlement.
According to Radar Online, Pitt sought to expedite the contentious divorce by presenting multiple generous settlement proposals to Jolie. However, sources indicate that Jolie consistently directed her legal representatives to decline these offers.
"She intended to penalize Brad, and she delayed the divorce for eight lengthy years until he was worn down to the extent that he would agree to any financial demand she made – and that is precisely what transpired," an insider revealed to Radar Online.
The star of Original Sin is said to have emerged from the divorce with a significant financial advantage, which includes the $11.5 million she received from the sale of a Winston Churchill painting that Pitt had given her in 2011. "She has come out of this divorce considerably wealthier than before," the source remarked.
Jolie-Pitt’s children reportedly distance themselves from father
The couple's separation in 2016 was further complicated by Jolie's reluctance to agree to Pitt's requests for joint custody of their six children: Maddox, 23; Pax, 21; Zahara, 20; Shiloh, 18; and the 16-year-old twins, Knox and Vivienne.
An insider disclosed, "Angelina has successfully achieved her aim of completely distancing her children from their father, resulting in minimal contact for most of them."
"Vivienne and Knox remain part of the custody arrangement and see him occasionally. However, Angelina is determined to ensure that they, too, will sever ties with Brad once they reach 18."
Reports indicate that the four eldest children have removed Brad Pitt from their surname, and their relationship with him continues to be strained.
As Pitt persists in his legal battle over the French winery, Château Miraval, sources close to the Bullet Train star indicate that he feels relieved to be free from the protracted divorce process. "He is looking ahead," a source remarked, adding, "Brad hopes to marry Ines (34-year-old jewellery designer Ines de Ramon) later this year."
