Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have officially concluded their divorce, marking the end of a protracted eight-year legal dispute.
The former Hollywood couple completed their divorce documentation on Monday, December 30.
Jolie’s attorney, James Simon, informed the Daily Mail that the actress is relieved to have achieved this significant milestone. “In all honesty, Angelina is fatigued,” Simon remarked.
“Over eight years ago, Angelina initiated the divorce proceedings against Mr. Pitt. She and the children vacated all shared properties with Mr. Pitt, and since then, her focus has been on seeking peace and healing for their family.”
The dispute between Pitt and Jolie regarding the vineyard intensifies with each passing day
The divorce settlement has been concluded; however, the former couple remains entangled in a legal conflict regarding the Chateau Miraval vineyard in France. Pitt has alleged that Jolie sold her share of the winery to the Stoli Group without obtaining his approval. According to the Daily Mail, both Jolie and Brad Pitt have indicated a willingness to resolve the issue through mediation or, if necessary, proceed to a jury trial.
A source familiar with the situation revealed that Jolie has been striving to maintain a positive demeanour following a challenging period.
“She refrains from speaking negatively about him, whether in public or private. The children have observed that some individuals possess such power and privilege that their voices seem insignificant, and their suffering is overlooked.”
The source also mentioned that their six children—Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, Vivienne, and Knox—have encouraged her to advocate for herself over the years, yet she advises them to concentrate on enacting legal changes rather than sharing personal narratives.
Jolie initiated divorce proceedings in September 2016, merely two years after their marriage, which followed a decade-long relationship. Reports suggest that the family experienced a distressing incident shortly before the filing, during which Pitt was accused of physical abuse on a private flight.
Jolie and Pitt were legally declared single in 2019. The Bullet Train star has been in a romantic relationship with Los Angeles-based jewellery designer Ines de Ramon for nearly two years.
