Ananya Panday has become the newest Indian celebrity to partner with a prestigious international luxury brand. On April 16, the renowned French luxury house Chanel revealed that the Bollywood actress will serve as its inaugural brand ambassador for India. This announcement coincides with India's emergence as a significant player in the expanding global luxury market.

Ananya Panday is Chanel's first Indian ambassador

In a statement to BoF, Chanel conveyed its enthusiasm regarding Ananya Panday's appointment, noting that the actress embodies a generation marked by changing preferences and strong independent identities, who explore the world driven by their curiosity. The brand further remarked, “Her values align with those of Chanel, making her an ideal representative for the house.”

Ananya herself expressed that the brand encapsulates “the spirit of personal freedom, encouraging individuals to confidently celebrate their uniqueness with enduring elegance.”

Since Ananya's appearance at the Chanel Spring/Summer 2025 show in Paris, where she donned an outfit from the Cruise Collection, there has been significant anticipation surrounding her appointment as the brand ambassador for the luxury label. Last year, Ananya attended the event alongside her sister, Rysa Panday.

Ananya Panday's other collaborations

Ananya, in addition to her collaboration with Chanel, is linked with various other global brands. The actress represents Swarovski and has participated in campaigns for Jimmy Choo in India. Furthermore, she serves as the brand ambassador for several labels, including Lakmé, Beats, and Timex.

Other stars who are brand ambassadors of luxury labels

In  recent years, numerous global luxury brands have collaborated with Indian celebrities such as Sonam Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Alia Bhatt, and Aishwarya Rai, among others. Sonam Kapoor has a partnership with Dior and was present at the French luxury brand's Fall 2025 showcase in Kyoto, Japan, on April 15. Alia Bhatt serves as the brand ambassador for Gucci, Deepika Padukone is linked with Louis Vuitton, and Aishwarya Rai has maintained a long-standing association with L'Oréal.
