The confrontation between Volodymyr Zelensky and Donald Trump at the White House on Friday has captivated global attention. The intense dialogue between the Ukrainian President and the US President has left not only political analysts but also social media users astonished. Notably, Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan has also expressed his views on the matter.

On Saturday morning, Amitabh utilized Twitter to post a message that appeared to reference recent events at the White House. He stated, “Gaye the, wapas aagaye (Went there but came back).” Many interpreted this remark as being too fitting to pertain to anything other than the current circumstances.

Zelensky traveled to America but returned feeling disrespected, as noted by one commentator. Another remarked that even Amitabh Bachchan possesses greater diplomatic finesse than Zelensky, suggesting that the former could express himself in a more nuanced way. 

Comedian Vir Das also weighed in, stating, "Zelenskyy entered a premeditated televised trap and allowed his ego to be provoked. It was a significant political misstep to lose his composure in such a manner."

What went down in White House?

Zelenskyy left the White House on Friday following an extraordinary verbal confrontation in the Oval Office involving himself, Trump, and Vice President J.D. Vance. During this exchange, which was broadcast to a global audience, Trump admonished Zelenskyy, stating, “You are gambling with the lives of millions. You are risking World War Three, and your actions are quite disrespectful to this nation, which has supported you more than many believe is warranted.”

The bilateral discussion between the two leaders unfolded in the Oval Office.

In response to Zelenskyy's mention of Russian President Vladimir Putin's 2014 invasion of Crimea, Vance retorted, “I find it disrespectful for you to come to the Oval Office and attempt to address this matter in front of the American media. You ought to be expressing gratitude to the president for his efforts to include you in this conference.”

Shortly after the intense exchange concluded, Trump issued a statement, remarking, “We had a very productive meeting at the White House today. Much was learned that could not have been grasped without such a conversation under intense circumstances.”
