Veteran stars Amitabh Bachchan, Dharmendra, and Zeenat Aman shared heartfelt messages as they paid tribute to actor Manoj Kumar. They took to their Instagram accounts and blogs to express their sorrow over his passing. Manoj Kumar passed away at 4:03 AM on April 4 at the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai after battling a long illness.

Dharmendra pays tribute to Manoj Kumar in a post

Dharmendra took to Instagram to share a nostalgic photo of himself and Manoj Kumar. In the picture, they were both smiling and holding a trophy. Dharmendra sported a white shirt with a red tie and a grey suit, while Manoj Kumar chose a white shirt paired with trousers.

In his caption, Dharmendra wrote, "Manoj, mere yaar tere saath beeta har pal bahut yaad ayega" (Manoj, my friend, I will cherish every moment spent with you)!!! Bobby Deol, Dharmendra's son and fellow actor, responded to the post with red heart emojis.

Zeenat Aman shares a throwback photo with Manoj

Zeenat Aman posted a throwback picture of herself with Manoj on her Instagram Stories. Along with the film still, she expressed her sorrow, saying, "I’m heartbroken to hear about Manoj Kumar's passing. May he rest in peace (dove emoji)."

Amitabh Bachchan pays tribute to Manoj in his blog

Amitabh posted on his blog an old black-and-white photo of himself with Manoj. In the snapshot, a cheerful Manoj has his arm around Amitabh, leaning his head close to him. Amitabh, smiling and looking away from the camera, embraced him. He captioned it, "In memory... and prayer (folded hands emoji) in sorrow."

Celebrities at Manoj's funeral

Amitabh and Abhishek Bachchan, along with Salim Khan and Arbaaz Khan, were present at Manoj's funeral held at the Pawan Hans crematorium in Mumbai on Saturday. The actor received state honors during the cremation. Dharmendra also stopped by Manoj's home following his passing on Friday.

Born as Harikrishan Goswami on July 24, 1937, in Abbottabad (which is now part of Pakistan), Manoj Kumar became a legendary figure in Indian cinema, particularly during the 1960s and 1970s. He was lovingly referred to as "Bharat Kumar" due to his memorable performances in patriotic films like Upkar, Purab Aur Paschim, and Shaheed.

Beyond acting, Kumar also made notable strides as a director and producer. His first film as a director, Upkar (1967), earned the National Film Award for Second Best Feature Film.
