At 82, actor Amitabh Bachchan is still a major force in Indian cinema. A recent report reveals that for the financial year 2024-25, he earned ₹350 crore and paid a hefty ₹120 crore in taxes.

His income comes from various sources, including film roles, brand endorsements, and hosting the hit game show Kaun Banega Crorepati. Amitabh has now claimed the title of the highest tax-paying celebrity, outpacing Shah Rukh Khan, who paid ₹92 crore in taxes last year.

Amitabh Bachchan's huge income disclosed

A report from Pinkvilla states that Amitabh Bachchan made ₹350 crore in the financial year 2024/2025, with a tax obligation of ₹120 crore on that income.

"From starring in some of the biggest films in Indian cinema to being the go-to choice for numerous brands, Amitabh Bachchan remains a sought-after actor at 82. He’s also the beloved host of Kaun Banega Crorepati. His earnings from these ventures total ₹350 crore, making him one of the highest earners in the film industry," a source shared with the publication.

The insider also mentioned that Amitabh settled his final advance tax payment of ₹52.50 crore on March 15, 2025.

"He continues to be a role model for many Indians and always ensures his taxes are paid on time. Amitabh Bachchan is eager to take on exciting new projects in 2025 and make a lasting impression on his fans," the source added.

Amitabh's upcoming projects

Amitabh is currently the host of the hit TV quiz show Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC) 16. On the movie side, he recently appeared in Vettaiyan and Kalki 2898 AD. In Vettaiyan, he shared the screen with Rajinikanth, marking their first collaboration in thirty years. The film hit theaters on October 10. Up next, he’ll star in Ribhu Dasgupta's courtroom drama Section 84, and he’s also set to return in the sequel to the successful film Kalki 2898 AD, which will be directed by Nag Ashwin.
