Amitabh Bachchan's reality quiz show Kaun Banega Crorepati just hit its 25th anniversary in the latest episode. To mark the occasion, the legendary host opened up about why he chose to take on the role and reminisced about how his family initially thought it was a “huge mistake.”

The episode kicked off with the host greeting everyone to join in the celebration of Kaun Banega Crorepati's 25th anniversary. Celebrities like Kajol, AR Rahman, and Abhishek Bachchan sent in their warm wishes, marking this impressive milestone for the show.

During the episode, Big B shared an interesting tale about his first thoughts on hosting KBC. When the idea was pitched to him, he was totally baffled and didn’t quite grasp how the show would function. To clear things up, the production team took him to the LC Studio in London, where the game was happening.

After soaking in the vibrant energy of the setup, he told the KBC crew that he’d only host if they could bring that same vibe to India. Amitabh also opened up about some behind-the-scenes moments, admitting he didn’t have any formal training for the show. He reminisced, "The producers didn’t notice my racing heart, and the camera didn’t catch my legs shaking on the first day. I was clueless about what was coming next. I just went with whatever popped into my head."

Big B shared how his family reacted when he decided to take on the role of KBC host. He mentioned, "When I broke the news to my family about hosting KBC, I won’t name names, but some were like, 'You’re making a huge mistake. People know you from the big screen, and now you want to be on the small screen?' I didn’t let that sway me and went for it anyway. And look at me now, sitting in this chair for 25 years."

Amitabh Bachchan was recently seen in Kalki 2898 AD. Directed by Nag Ashwin, the film featured Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, and Kamal Haasan in key roles. Big B's role as Ashwatthama in this sci-fi flick was a hit, and the movie raked in over ₹1,000 crore globally.
