Sony TV has unveiled a new promotional campaign for their popular program Kaun Banega Crorepati. The 17th season of the show is set to begin shortly, with registration lines opening soon. Renowned megastar Amitabh Bachchan will return to host the series once again.

The promotional clip features Amitabh in evident distress on a couch as a doctor inquires about his condition. Amitabh reassures the doctor that he hasn't consumed any 'chatar patar' from outside, yet he continues to experience stomach pain. The doctor humorously suggests that it might be some gossip causing his discomfort.

Amitabh Bachchan ponders this for a moment but then casually mentions that the registration for KBC 17 will commence on April 14. He also clarifies to his fans that his portrayal is purely theatrical and that he is not experiencing any real pain.

Fans loved the cute new promo and Amitabh Bachchan's energetic acting. “This is so good,” wrote one.

Back so soon?

Some viewers expressed confusion regarding the rapid return of the show, as its 16th season concluded in February. One individual remarked, “We just finished playing, and it’s back already.” Another added, “How much longer will you keep us playing? The last season just wrapped up.”

A commenter noted, “Every six months, the same show returns. For instance, Indian Idol will finish, and in six months, a new season will be back again.”

Registrations are set to commence on April 14, followed by auditions, the selection of contestants, and the preparation of their video packages. The new season is expected to premiere in August.

In a personal blog post last year, Bachchan highlighted that the show provides contestants with a chance not only to win a substantial cash prize but also to share their personal narratives. He mentioned, "There will be some fresh and intriguing changes in the GAME, along with the impact it will have and the lessons learned. Above all, it’s the 'emotions' that resonate with all of us when a contestant shares their story.

"The challenging situations they face, the years of hardship they endure, and then suddenly finding themselves on the 'hot seat' — they are often overwhelmed by the emotion of the moment," the 82-year-old actor stated.

The legendary actor has been the host of "KBC" since its debut season in 2000, with the exception of the third season in 2007, which was hosted by superstar Shah Rukh Khan.
