Actor Amitabh Bachchan has expressed his thoughts regarding the various projects that he encounters, questioning whether he will be able to "do justice to it." In a recent entry on his blog, the 82-year-old actor referred to himself as a "mere puppet," indicating that he is directed to perform in a specific way according to the guidance of the director.

Amitabh talks about work, its challenges

In his reflections, Amitabh noted that he lacks comprehensive knowledge about the current state of the film industry. He mentioned, "Meetings and meetings and meetings abound for work to come... and this presents a test, a challenge... deciding what to accept, what to decline, and what to refuse politely. Ultimately, these discussions lead to conversations about the Film Industry, its operations, and its current condition, none of which I am familiar with at all."

Amitabh calls himself a 'mere puppet'

He continued, "The ongoing concern has always been about the work I am receiving and whether I will be able to do justice to it. What follows is a haze—the production, the costs, the marketing, the exhibition, and so forth—an incomprehensible and indistinct blur. The selection of a project has consistently been determined by others—the producers, the writers, and all those involved in the filmmaking process. I am merely a puppet, instructed to perform and act in a specific manner as dictated by the director, and that is the extent of my involvement."

Amitabh opens up on 'several errors made'

The actor elaborated on the sources of his inspiration for improvisation during filming and the impact of aging on his craft. "Any creative spark that emerges is simply a spontaneous reaction, devoid of research, preparation, or discussions; it is about being present on set and going with the flow. As one ages, the challenge extends beyond merely memorizing lines; it encompasses various age-related factors that must be navigated to effectively deliver the required performance. Upon returning home, one often reflects on the numerous mistakes made and contemplates how to rectify them, sometimes even making a late-night call to the Director for another opportunity to enhance or correct the work," he concluded. The actor has been active in the industry for nearly sixty years, consistently taking on new projects.
