Actor Amitabh Bachchan has made his second investment in Ayodhya following the consecration of the Ram Mandir in 2024. According to a report from TOI, he acquired another plot of land through his trust, which is situated about 10 kilometers from the temple.

Amitabh Bachchan has purchased more land in Ayodhya

The report reveals that the Harivansh Rai Bachchan Trust, established in 2013 to honor Amitabh’s father, has acquired a new piece of land. This one spans 54,454 square feet and marks the second property the actor has purchased in that area. Last January, he bought another plot in Haveli Avadh for ₹4.54 crore.

Pratap Singh, the assistant inspector general of the stamp and registration department in Ayodhya, told the publication, “We can only confirm that sale deeds have taken place. Once the local development authority approves the building plan, we’ll know the intended use for these two investments.”

Both land transactions were reportedly handled by Rajesh Rishikesh Yadav on behalf of the actor. A source mentioned that the land in Haveli Avadh is intended for residential use, while the larger plot acquired now is meant for charitable activities.

Latest projects

After the 2022 movie Uunchai, Amitabh mostly made cameo appearances in the 2023 films Ghoomer and Ganapath. In 2024, he took on a leading role in Nag Ashwin’s sci-fi flick Kalki 2898 AD, sharing the screen with Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, and Kamal Haasan. He portrayed Ashwatthama in a Telugu film, earning praise for his performance. Additionally, he appeared in TJ Gnanavel’s Vettaiyan alongside Rajinikanth, playing the character Sathyadev Bramhadutt Pande in this cop drama that also featured Fahadh Faasil.
