Actress Sudipta Chakraborty and her elder sister Bidipta Chakraborty have taken part in the civil society movement after the RG Kar incident in Kolkata. Sudipta returned the award she received from the state government. Bidipta and her husband Birsa recently joined the symbolic hunger strike, too. Amid this, suddenly an old post by Sudipta and her comment became viral on social media.

Sudipta will host a cookery show on Colors Bangla in 2022. After the first episode, the actress posted a status where a person trolled her. The person commented, “You chose the right job. You play a cook in the film Bariwali. You learned from there.”

Sudipta replied, “There are a few mistakes. I did not cook in the film. I acted in a role. For my acting, I won the National Award that year, and the honorable President bestowed the award on me. I learned acting many years back and don’t want to go into any details regarding that. And in this show, I am not cooking, but rather hosting. Cooking is an extremely difficult task, and good cooking is more difficult. Hence, no uneducated person, while shedding tears with laughter, can belittle the work, not even you. I don’t know whether you can cook. But from your writing, I don’t think you can. If you could, you would honor cooking. Be respectful to your family members who cook to feed you. Get well soon.”

The screenshot of her comment became viral. Her fans always respected her for her outspokenness and protesting stand. A person posted the screenshots and wrote, “Physical strength is not always needed to slap someone. In some cases, education is enough.” Another person commented, “Everyone got a smartphone and cheap net. They don’t have any idea of what they are saying and to whom. They don’t look at themselves in the mirror. There is no definite evidence of their worth, education, or contribution. If they see an artist, they think that they can tell them whatever they want and it gives them an ego massage. I feel pity for them.”
