Garner has been in a discreet relationship with businessman John Miller for several years, characterized by its intermittent nature. The prospect of marriage had previously been discussed. However, with the recent reemergence of the Batman actor, who has been frequently seen with his ex-wife and their children during the holiday season amidst his divorce from Jennifer Lopez, speculation arose regarding a potential reconciliation. An insider informed InTouch, "They’re not getting back together."

Regarding the current dynamics between Jen and Ben, the insider remarked, "Jen is still in a relationship with John, and Ben is very supportive of that." The source further elaborated, "Ben is single and is approaching life one day at a time. While their situation is not without its challenges, Jen and Ben exemplify effective co-parenting."

The former couple, who were married for over ten years, share three children: Violet, Fin, and Samuel.
