Actor Ameesha Patel has addressed the controversy regarding the notable age difference between Salman Khan and Rashmika Mandanna in the film Sikandar. She expressed her confusion over the significant focus on their 31-year age gap, questioning the reasons behind the uproar it has generated.

At a recent event in Mumbai, Ameesha was asked for her opinion on the ongoing discussion regarding the notable age difference between Salman and Rashmika.
In her response to the photographer, Ameesha highlighted her experience of sharing the screen with Sunny Deol in both Gadar: Ek Prem Katha and Gadar 2.
Ameesha, who has collaborated with Salman in Yeh Hai Jalwa, remarked, "There was also a 20-year age gap between me and Sunny (Deol), but when a pairing is successful, it is successful." She added playfully, "Anyway, Salman is just muah," while making a flying kiss gesture.

At the trailer launch of Sikandar in Mumbai, Salman addressed the criticism regarding his choice to act alongside the younger Rashmika, emphasizing their 31-year age difference.
He remarked, “They say there’s a 31-year gap between me and the heroine. But if the heroine is comfortable and her father has no objections, why should you have a problem, my friend? When she gets married and has a daughter, I will work with her daughter as well. Her mother’s approval will certainly be obtained.” Rashmika was seen laughing at Salman’s comments during the event.
Sikandar, directed by AR Murugadoss, renowned for films like Ghajini, tells the story of Salman as Sikandar, who embarks on a quest for justice to safeguard the three individuals who received organ donations from his wife. The film premiered in theaters on Sunday but did not receive the anticipated response.
