Amar Upadhyay reacts to Ram Kapoor's comments about his career decisions
Amar Upadhyay responded to Ram Kapoor's remarks about his career choices, saying, “I live by the idea that I don’t care what others think of me. Negative comments or podcasts don’t bother me at all. I keep a positive attitude and know I work really hard.”
He also made it clear that he hasn’t actually stepped away from television, adding, “I can’t stay home for more than two to four days; I go a bit crazy if I’m not working. I’m not leaving TV because it’s always provided me with steady work. I have a meeting tonight for another major TV show, and I’m considering how much I want to take on. A lot of my old colleagues aren’t in the industry anymore, but I’ve been around for 32 years and I’m still going strong.” Amar expressed his gratitude for the opportunities he has and mentioned that he’ll just keep focusing on his work and brush off any negativity.
Ram Kapoor's comments
Ram Kapoor didn't hold back on the podcast when he slammed Amar Upadhyay for ditching television to chase a film career, calling it a bad move. He said, “I warned Amar not to leave TV, but he went for a movie instead. A bunch of us, myself included, were like, ‘What’s going on, man?’ I reminded him that he’s Mihir for the whole country. Why would he walk away for a film called Dhund: The Fog?”
Amar Upadhyay's most recent gig was in the TV show Doree, which ran from 2023 to 2024. He also made an appearance in Hansal Mehta's web series Scoop. Before that, he had a supporting role in the hit movie Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, which came out in 2022. That film, featuring stars like Tabu, Kartik Aaryan, and Kiara Advani, was a massive success, raking in ₹265.5 crore globally.
