Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna's movie Pushpa 2: The Rule is making waves for all sorts of reasons. It's raking in huge box office numbers while also stirring up some serious controversy. Just a few hours after its release on Friday, Allu found himself in hot water—he was arrested, put in 14-day custody, and then granted bail. This all happened after his arrival at a theater called Sandhya in Hyderabad led to a stampede. Tragically, a woman named Revathi lost her life, and her 8-year-old son, Sri Teja, is in critical condition after suffering from asphyxiation. Reports say he's still not out of the woods and is currently on life support at the hospital.
Sri Teja is currently on a ventilator.
A 35-year-old woman named Revathi tragically lost her life in a stampede that broke out when Allu Arjun made an appearance at the Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad during a screening of his movie Pushpa 2: The Rule. Her 8-year-old son, Sri Teja, was also at the theater and suffered from asphyxiation due to the chaos. He has been in critical condition ever since. In response to the tragedy, Allu Arjun pledged financial support of Rs 25 lakh to Revathi's family and promised to meet them personally, as well as cover Sri’s medical bills.
Sri Teja remains hospitalized, and his recovery is proving to be quite challenging. He is currently in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) and is on ventilator support. Although he has some basic needs, he is experiencing intermittent fever and is still not fully conscious, indicating that he has yet to regain complete awareness.
The hospital shared an update saying, “The boy is still in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) on ventilator support but needs very little assistance. His blood circulation is stable, and he’s managing tube feedings well. That said, he’s experiencing some fever, is in a confused state, and shows some unusual movements.”
Allu Arjun Involved in Stampede Controversy
Allu Arjun recently spoke at the Pushpa 2 success meet about the recent incident. He expressed, "What happened at the Sandhya Theatre is really sad... I'm still in shock. It took me a long time to wrap my head around it and figure out how to respond. I needed about 10 hours to process everything. We were all in disbelief when we heard the news. Sukumar sir was really emotional too. I plan to meet with them personally later. We’ll always be there to support the family."
