Actor Allu Arjun, who was detained and subsequently released in relation to the stampede incident that occurred during the premiere of his film Pushpa 2, addressed the media, expressing his intention to cooperate legally and extending his condolences to the grieving family.

On the day of the Pushpa 2 premiere, a tragic stampede at Sandhya Theatre resulted in the death of a 35-year-old woman during Allu Arjun's visit. Following this incident, a case was registered, leading to the actor's arrest on Friday. He was later released from Chanchalguda prison on interim bail.
In his statement to the assembled media, Allu Arjun remarked, “I am safe and doing well. There is no cause for concern. I want to emphasize that I am a law-abiding citizen and will fully cooperate with the authorities. It is crucial for me to express my condolences to the family affected by this tragedy. It is indeed very unfortunate that we went to enjoy a film and an accident occurred. We deeply regret what has transpired.”
The actor noted that he has frequently visited the theatre to watch his films as well as others, and he had never encountered such an incident before. Allu Arjun affirmed his commitment to providing support to the bereaved family and expressed gratitude to his supporters.
Allu Arjun's arrest: Attorney claims it was unlawful detention
Allu Arjun was arrested on Friday evening and initially remanded for 14 days, but the Telangana High Court later granted him interim bail. His attorney, Ashok Reddy, stated that despite the court's directive for release, the actor remained in custody, and they plan to pursue legal action regarding this matter.
In the meantime, Pushpa 2 has been performing exceptionally well at the box office, surpassing the 1000-crore milestone globally, with over Rs 750 crore collected in India during its first nine days.
