Numerous reports have circulated concerning Atlee's direction of Salman Khan in his upcoming film. However, prevailing information indicates that the producers are hesitant to allocate a substantial budget for the project. In a grand, high-budget production that spans across India, two of the most renowned actors from the Telugu and Tamil film industries are set to collaborate. According to PeepingMoon.com, Allu Arjun will feature in the forthcoming two-hero epic period drama directed by Atlee, thereby concluding months of speculation.

Pre-production and filming schedule

Notwithstanding the outstanding documentation, the star has effectively granted his endorsement for the project and is expected to begin work on it without delay. As per a source familiar with the situation, Atlee aims to initiate pre-production around April to May. The exact filming date and additional technical specifications are still being finalized.

Sun Pictures, a leading Tamil film production company recognized for its support of notable films such as Enthiran, Sarkar, Beast, Jailer, and the upcoming Rajinikanth-Lokesh Kanagaraj project, Coolie, will be at the helm of this production. The esteemed production house has officially committed to financing this highly anticipated collaboration, although discussions regarding the production budget are still ongoing. Sources indicate that the Allu-Atlee film may have a budget that surpasses Rs. 600 crores, positioning it among the most expensive Indian film ventures to date.

Grand reincarnation-themed period drama

The forthcoming film, which has yet to be titled, is described as an epic period saga centered on the theme of reincarnation. It promises breathtaking visuals and unparalleled entertainment, surpassing the filmmaker's previous works. The narrative focuses on two protagonists, Allu and an undisclosed male lead. Additionally, the film will feature three principal female roles, with Janhvi Kapoor reportedly under consideration for one of them.

Salman Khan's exit

There have been speculations regarding this matter; however, it is indeed the same project that Salman was previously associated with. Initially, Atlee and Sun Pictures intended to cast the superstar in the leading role. However, Sun Pictures hesitated to invest in a project featuring Salman, which ultimately led to Allu Arjun reprising the lead role. Furthermore, it is understood that negotiations stalled after the revelation of Will Smith's compensation, although there were rumors suggesting that the director was considering a Hollywood actor for a supporting role.

Trivikram Srinivas has allegedly postponed the actor's highly awaited mythical epic, which has led to the expedited development of Atlee's project. While the filmmaker's film is being prioritized, he intends to finalize it by the end of the first quarter of the upcoming year. Consequently, the production schedule for that project has been extended to 2026, necessitated by the extra time required for script development and extensive pre-production efforts.
