Actor Alia Bhatt celebrated her birthday two days in advance with the media in Mumbai on Thursday. Ranbir Kapoor was also present, and a cute moment between him and Alia reminded people of this hilarious scene from the 2003 film Hungama.

After Alia sliced the cake amidst cheers from Ranbir and the media, she playfully took a bite for herself before offering some to Ranbir. In a lighthearted act of revenge, Ranbir playfully smeared cake on her nose while attempting to feed her. This charming moment elicited "aww" reactions from fans, while also evoking memories of a scene featuring Paresh Rawal and Shoma Anand in the film Hungama.

Numerous videos emerged, juxtaposing footage of Alia with the scene where Shoma's character, Anjali Pandey Tiwari, indulges in cake at her birthday celebration instead of serving it to her husband, Radheshyam Tiwari, portrayed by Paresh. Some viewers speculated that Alia had recreated this iconic moment, while others noted that Ranbir's attire closely resembled that of Paresh.

One individual remarked on an Instagram post featuring the video, stating, “The moustache. The glasses. The attire. The applause.” Another user humorously added, “Same same but different,” to which a fan concurred, “Inspired by Radheshyam Tiwari and Anjali.” A different fan expressed curiosity, asking, “Why does it seem like they are genuinely recreating it?” while another quipped, “Copied from a legend.”

Additionally, an Instagram user commented, “Alia must have just watched Hungama and thought, I’ll do the same; first, I’ll worship my own stomach, then I’ll handle other matters.” People also made light of Jeetu Videocon, referencing Akshaye Khanna’s character from the film.

Upcoming work

Alia was last spotted in Jigra in 2024, whereas Ranbir's most recent appearance was in the 2023 film Animal. The two are set to collaborate in the upcoming project Love & War, which will also feature Vicky Kaushal. Additionally, Alia is slated to appear in Alpha, while Ranbir is preparing for his role in Ramayana. The couple traveled to Alibaug to celebrate Alia’s birthday but returned to Mumbai on Friday to honor the memory of Ayan Mukerji’s father, Deb Mukherjee, following his passing.
