Alia Bhatt commemorated the birthday of renowned filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali in Mumbai on Monday evening, accompanied by her co-stars from Love and War, Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal. The actress took to her Instagram to showcase the impressive birthday cake that was prepared for the celebration. Her post also included a tribute to Vicky, highlighting the remarkable success of his recent film, Chhaava.

In her latest update, Alia shared a photograph capturing her cheerful expression, positioned just behind Vicky. Bhansali was seen smiling while seated between Vicky and Ranbir, who occupied the left side. A chocolate cake adorned with the words ‘Happy Birthday’ was placed in front of them, accompanied by two small candles. Another image depicted Vicky appearing to serve himself a piece of cake.

In her caption, Alia expressed: "A brief pause from night shoots to honour our director (sparkles emoji). Happy birthday to the magician, sir (and happy 3 to our Gangu too) & finally, a round of applause for @vickykaushal09 for absolutely dominating the box office with Chhaava!!! Now, the party is over … back to shooting."

Alia had earlier expressed her admiration for Chhaava, particularly commending Vicky Kaushal's portrayal of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. In her Instagram Stories, she enthusiastically remarked, “Vicky Kaushal! What are you????? I cannot get over your performance in Chhaava! @vickykaushal09.”

The historical drama, directed by Laxman Utekar, premiered in theatres on February 14 and has swiftly emerged as the highest-grossing Hindi film of 2025, earning over ₹300 crore. Chhaava is adapted from Shivaji Sawant's Marathi novel of the same title.

Currently, Alia is engaged in the filming of Love and War, which represents her second partnership with Bhansali following Gangubai Kathiawadi, for which she received the National Award for Best Actress. Additionally, she has a project titled Alpha, featuring Sharvari, in the works.
