Netflix's "Adolescence" has captivated audiences worldwide, receiving significant praise and enthusiastic reviews from both critics and viewers alike. She expressed her admiration for the dedication of the cast and crew.
Alia Bhatt expressed her admiration
On Friday, Alia Bhatt took to her Instagram Stories to share her inspired reflections after viewing the mini-series, admitting that she is still processing the impeccable execution of the project.
Accompanying a poster of the series, Alia remarked, “This show is genuinely perfection... From the writing to the staging to the EXCEPTIONAL cinematography - I can only imagine the emotions felt when, after an hour of calling the action, they finally called cut... how did the entire cast and crew feel????”
“The performances of everyone who appeared on screen were VIBRANT... authentic, raw, and so intensely present that the energy is incredibly tangible! It is profoundly moving. The artistry of storytelling and the collaboration of an entire team to deliver, with every department pouring their heart and soul into every moment on screen. I am truly in awe,” she concluded.

Fashion designer and actor Masaba Gupta was among the first to express her views on the series, taking to social media to share her insights. She stated, “Envision a realm of content featuring flawless one-shot episodes. Every actor remains perfectly in sync, including even the background performer. Picture immense critical praise, captivating entertainment, and an inability to look away from the screen. Imagine feelings of astonishment, shock, and goosebumps—not due to cringe-worthy content, but rather due to exceptional work from every department involved.”
Regarding Adolescence
Adolescence is a limited four-part series featuring Stephen Graham alongside newcomer Owen Cooper. It garnered outstanding reviews following its release last week and has become a sensation on social media. Directed by Philip Barantini, the series premiered on Netflix on March 13 and quickly ascended to the No. 1 position globally.
Co-created and penned by Stephen Graham and Jack Thorne, Adolescence narrates the story of a family fractured after 13-year-old Jamie Miller (Owen Cooper) is apprehended for the murder of a classmate. The series delves into themes of casual misogyny and the impact of social media on today’s youth. Each scene is filmed in a single take, a technique that has received widespread acclaim.
The show has also ignited discussions about the possibility of producing a similar project in India, raising concerns about the state of creative freedom in the country.
Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap remarked, “How can we ever produce something so impactful and genuine with a platform like @netflix.in, which is heavily supported by the leadership in LA?” Sudhir Mishra added that such daring storytelling would not be allowed in India, stating, “No one would permit us to create something like that. It should be done as an independent film—something that wanders, pauses, explores, and follows the scent wherever it leads.”
