After wooing audiences even outside Kerala with his charming Premalu, Naslen is now gearing up for his upcoming Malayalam movie, Alappuzha Gymkhana. The Naslen-starrer, touted to be a sports comedy, has not one but three heroines. Newcomer Nanda Nishanth, who is the daughter of Malayalam actor Nishanth Sagar, plays one of the heroines.

Alappuzha Gymkhana, directed by Khalid Rahman, introduces another star offspring to the Malayalam film industry. Nanda Nishanth has made her entry into Malayalam cinema, following in the footsteps of her father, Nishanth Sagar, who is known for his significant performances in films such as Dileep's Joker and Thilakkam.
Nanda auditioned for debut movie
According to a report by Manorama News, Nanda joined Khalid Rahman's film after successfully auditioning, without any influence from her father.
Nanda, who admits to having seen few of her father's films, developed an interest in the movie industry after enrolling in a visual communications program for her degree.
"I was chosen for this film through an audition. My father is very pleased that I am pursuing acting. He mentioned that there is no better way to start my career than with this film," Nanda stated, expressing her gratitude for the opportunity to make her debut in Khalid Rahman's project.
Naslen-directed Alappuzha Gymkhana showcases a talented ensemble of young actors, such as Ganapathi S. Poduval, Lukman Avaran, Anagha Ravi, Franco Francis, among others. The film is scheduled for release in theaters on April 10, 2025, coinciding with the premieres of Mammootty’s Bazooka and Basil Joseph’s Maranamass.
Who is Nishanth Sagar?
For individuals who may not be acquainted with Malayalam cinema from the 2000s, Nishanth Sagar rose to prominence through his role in the film Joker, which starred Dileep and was directed by the renowned screenwriter and filmmaker Lohithadas. Additionally, he appeared in several other films, including Thilakkam, Phantom, and Rasikan.
He has also appeared in recent Malayalam films, including Rekhachithram and Turbo. In the successful movie Rekhachithram, which premiered in January 2025, Nishanth Sagar portrayed the character DYSP Mohandas.
