Akshay Kumar Set to Anchor All Future Kesari Films? Director Responds

Kesari Chapter 2: The Untold Story of Jallianwala Bagh is performing well in cinemas. Featuring Akshay Kumar, Ananya Panday, and R. Madhavan, the movie has already surpassed Rs. 40 crore at the box office. For those who may not know, the film is a follow-up to the 2019 movie Kesari, which was inspired by the Battle of Saragarhi; nonetheless, the second part is a courtroom drama centered around the 1919 Jallianwala Bagh tragedy. Recently, in a new interview, director Karan Singh Tyagi affirmed that Akshay will lead all Kesari franchise movies.

Speaking To News18, Karan Singh Tyagi disclosed that they had not settled on a title for Kesari Chapter 2 for quite some time, but then Akshay Kumar proposed the idea of calling it Kesari Chapter 2.

"I believe it was an excellent suggestion. We all excitedly embraced the concept that Kesari Chapter 2 is truly the ideal title. For us, Kesari represents the hue of revolution and a tale of courage and bravery of an unsung hero from India. It’s a title that does full justice to the film and its narrative. There are numerous stories of unsung heroes in this nation that are revolutionary in essence," he stated.

Speaking Regarding the forthcoming installments, Karan revealed that Akshay will be the lead in all of them. He mentioned that numerous such narratives will showcase additional unsung heroes to the viewers.

"There will definitely be more installments and movies in this franchise. And Akshay will lead them all. He’s associated with Kesari and with tales of unsung heroes and their courage and sacrifice, and he has performed exceptionally well in this film," he stated.

During an interview with Filme Shilmy, director Karan Singh Tyagi confessed that they decided to incorporate the f-word after thorough research and discussing significant matters with historians. He further stated that including the ‘fk you’ in the film was crucial because, "the whole point was to confront the British and say ‘fk you’ for their actions. That was the bravery we drew from Sankaran Nair’s narrative, and it’s the same bravery we aimed to portray. ”
