At a recent event, Akshay shared a funny moment where his wife, Twinkle Khanna, playfully asks him, "How many times are you going to save the country?" He also pointed out that his movies often portray India as a hero.

At a Republic World event, the actor chatted about the various patriotic movies he's made since starting his own production company. He also mentioned how many Hollywood films show the USA saving the day during global disasters. He admitted that he used to think differently but now realizes that India can achieve even more.

Akshay mentioned that when he shares his thoughts, people tend to understand his perspective. He pointed out that in those big Hollywood disaster movies, there's always someone who comes to save the day—whether it's an alien invasion, a terrorist threat, a meteor strike, or some other major crisis, we've all seen it. And that hero is usually the United States. He then pondered, "If America is handling everything, when do they actually get to do something?" He also emphasized that this highlights India's potential, suggesting that there's a lot we can achieve here as well.

The success of movies such as Airlift and Mission Mangal

Akshay went on to commend his films Airlift and Mission Mangal for bringing new stories to life in India. He understands that these kinds of movies might not rake in huge box office numbers since audiences often prefer pure entertainment. Still, he creates them because it feels right to him. He also talked about his latest project, Sky Force, featuring Veer Pahariya. Plus, he plans to keep making films that celebrate his roots. The coolest part? Once the movie hits theaters, that's when it starts popping up on streaming platforms.

Akshay has pointed out that he and Twinkle have very different opinions, but they still respect each other a lot. He mentioned that they couldn't be more different—he leans right while she leans left. However, they do share a love for going to bed early and getting up early. They also enjoy playing board games like Rummy and Ludo together. Aside from that, everything else about them is quite distinct. But above all, respect is key. He believes that couples don’t need to match all 36 unique personality traits to get along. In fact, he told Galatta India that mutual respect is the most important quality to look for in a partner, even more than any other trait in a relationship.
