Akshay Kumar recently cleared up some rumors about his departure from the Bigg Boss finale. Reports claimed he left without filming with Salman Khan because Salman was late. But Akshay explained that he actually had other commitments to take care of, which is why he had to leave. He also mentioned that he chatted with Salman before he left to make sure there were no hard feelings.

Akshay responds

On Monday, Akshay was in Delhi to hype up his new movie, Sky Force. At a press conference there, he mentioned that he had a chat with Salman over the phone, who was dealing with a personal issue.

When asked about leaving the Bigg Boss 18 set without filming with Salman, Akshay explained, “I was running late for something. I talked to Salman, and he said he was caught up with a personal matter. He mentioned he’d be about 40 minutes late. But I had to head out because I had something else lined up.”

“I had to go... But we did talk about it,” Akshay added.

Something went down

Yesterday, Akshay was all set to film with Salman for the Bigg Boss finale. However, he had test screenings for his other movie, Jolly LLB 3, which caused him to leave. A source shared with HT City, “True to his punctual nature, Akshay arrived on set right on time, around 2:15 pm. But Salman hadn’t shown up yet. Akshay waited for an hour, but since he had a screening for Jolly LLB 3, he decided to head out without filming.” They even tried calling him to come back, but he didn’t change his mind.

Later on, Salman spoke about the situation. Once the show kicked off, Veer Pahariya came to help Salman announce the first eviction of the grand finale, which turned out to be Eisha Singh. Salman mentioned that Akshay was there to promote his upcoming film but had to leave because he was running late. “Akki (Akshay Kumar) is also in the film. I got a little delayed, and he had to leave for another commitment, so he took off.”

In other news, Karan Veer Mehra was crowned the winner of Bigg Boss 18.
