The controversy around Ranveer Allahbadia and Samay Raina from India's Got Talent has sparked quite a discussion, with several celebrities criticizing them. On the flip side, actress Akansha Ranjan Kapoor has stepped up to back them, questioning why lawmakers aren't addressing more pressing matters like rape and bribery.

Akansha responds

On Wednesday, Akansha hopped on her Instagram stories to express her thoughts, sharing a post that revealed the Maharashtra Police has filed a case against Ranveer, Samay, and others involved in the controversial episode.

Alongside the post, she wrote, "Guys, I think I'm losing it... so marital rape is cool? Any kind of rape is cool?"

She added, “It's totally fine to suffocate us with bad air quality. People are literally falling into potholes and dying, and that's okay. Pay gaps, bribery, the caste system, and taxes that are crushing the middle class? All good! But how dare anyone tarnish our moral standing?”

Earlier, Uorfi Javed voiced her support for her ‘friend’ Samay Raina, stating that while the comments made during the panel were ‘distasteful,’ they shouldn’t face jail time for it. Uorfi mentioned, “You might not like certain people or what they say, but calling for them to be jailed? Seriously? I mean, Samay is a friend, and I’ve got his back. Sure, what everyone said was distasteful, but jail time? I don’t think that’s warranted.”

Let's talk about the debate

Ranveer made quite a stir during his guest spot on Samay’s show, India’s Got Latent, when he posed a pretty shocking question to a contestant: "Would you rather watch your parents have sex every day for the rest of your life or join in once and stop it forever?" This comment sparked a ton of outrage on social media, leading Ranveer to apologize and request that the show's producers cut out the inappropriate parts from the episode. The show also had appearances from Apoorva Mukhija, Ashish Chanchlani, and Jaspreet Singh.

In response, the All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) issued a statement calling for strict action against the two and demanded an immediate ban on the show. Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis pointed out that while freedom of expression is important, it does have its boundaries. Meanwhile, Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Priyanka Chaturvedi announced that she would bring this issue up in parliament..
