On April 10, the box office in Bengaluru experienced a surge in activity in anticipation of Vishu/Baishaki and the upcoming Easter weekend. The Malayalam film industry released three titles: Bazooka, Alappuzha Gymkhaana, and Maranamass. The Kannada sector contributed two out of three films for the week with Vaamana and Vidyapati. Additionally, there was one release each from the Tamil (Good Bad Ugly), Telugu (Jack), and Hindi (Jaat) film industries.

Leading the box office was the Tamil film Good Bad Ugly, featuring Thala Ajith. Although the film did not have early morning screenings and commenced at 8:30 am, it managed to secure nearly 650 shows, marking the third highest for the actor after Vidaamuyarchi and Valimai. On its opening day, it achieved a gross of Rs 3.5 crore, attracting a substantial audience across all screenings.

Trackers indicate that the film fell short of achieving the title of the highest opening of 2025 due to the absence of early morning screenings. The film reportedly had 123 rapidly filling or sold-out 8:30 AM shows, with a comparable number noted for the evening and night screenings. Although there was a decline on Day 2, even on a weekday, Good Bad Ugly still managed to have around 50 shows that were filling up quickly.

Competing with the film at the Bengaluru box office is Alappuzha Gymkhaana, featuring Naslen. By the second day, this film not only secured additional screens but also demonstrated strong audience turnout. The weekend is anticipated to be favorable for both movies. Reports indicate that Good Bad Ugly grossed Rs 50 crore on its opening day, with nearly two-thirds of that revenue generated in Tamil Nadu. However, this figure is estimated to represent only a 22% recovery for the producers.

Directed by Adhik Ravichandran, Good Bad Ugly marks Ajith’s second release of the year, following the long-awaited Vidaamuyarchi. The film has been characterized as ideal fan service—loud, extravagant, and entertaining. It tells the story of a reformed gangster who is compelled to revert to a life of violence when his son is imprisoned for a crime he did not commit.
