Ajith Kumar gets into a car accident
Ajith had a rough time during the practice for the six-hour endurance test when he crashed his race car into the barriers. A video making the rounds on X (formerly Twitter) shows his Porsche smashing into a barrier, spinning wildly, and wrecking the front end. Thankfully, once he regained control of the car, Ajith walked away without a scratch.
His team told an online media that he just barely avoided an accident. During a practice run around 12:45 pm, his race car crashed into the barrier. The security team on-site acted quickly. Ajith switched to a different race car since the first one was wrecked and kept on practicing. Luckily, he came out of it without a scratch.
Ajith Kumar's racing crew
Ajith runs a racing team called Ajith Kumar Racing and is currently in Dubai gearing up for the 24H Dubai 2025 with his teammates Mathieu Detry, Fabian Duffieux, and Cameron McLeod. Fabian stepped in as the team manager back in December. The big race is set for January 11-12.
Ajith kicked off his racing team last September, and his wife Shalini gave them a shoutout on social media by sharing a team brochure. She expressed her excitement, saying, “It’s awesome to see you back on the track, doing what you love. Here’s to a safe and successful racing journey for you and your team!”
Before this, Ajith raced in events like Formula BMW Asia, British Formula 3, and the FIA F2 Championship. Now, his team is ready to take on races across Europe. Ajith is also passionate about bikes and started his racing journey in the National Motorcycle Racing Championship back in the early 90s. After a long break of over ten years, he’s back in the game.
On top of that, he’s set to appear in the films Vidaamuyarchi and Good Bad Ugly, with the latter hitting theaters on April 10.
