Ajith Kumar is committed to following his passion for racing, even if it necessitates a reduction in his film commitments. Speaking to the media at the 24H Dubai 2025 endurance race, the proprietor of Ajith Kumar Racing stated that he would limit his film signing to periods outside of the racing season.

Ajith was inquired about his film career and whether he has any contracts that might limit his participation in racing. He promptly responded, “I do not require guidance on what actions to take or avoid. Therefore, as I intend to engage in motorsports not only as a driver but also as a team owner, I will refrain from signing film contracts during the racing season. However, I anticipate that between October and March, prior to the commencement of the racing season, I will likely participate in film projects. I will act in films to alleviate any concerns, allowing me to fully focus on racing.”

He further elaborated that throughout the years, he has participated in the BMW Asian Championship, British Formula 3, and European Formula 2, although he was unable to compete as frequently as he desired due to his obligations in the film industry. “I began racing motorcycles in India at the age of 18, but my career in film soon took precedence. In 2002, at the age of 32, I made the decision to return to racing, transitioning from motorcycles to four-wheel vehicles. I competed in national championships in India before moving on to international events, but my participation was limited due to my professional commitments,” he explained.

Recently, Ajith left fans worried when his car spun out of control and crashed into a barrier during the practice run ahead of the endurance race in Dubai. The actor luckily escaped unharmed.

Upcoming work

Ajith has two upcoming film releases: Vidaamuyarchi and Good Bad Ugly. The former was initially scheduled for release during Pongal but has since been delayed, with a new release date still pending. The latter is set to premiere in theatres on April 10. While he has not yet disclosed any additional projects, Lokesh Kanagaraj has recently shown interest in collaborating with him.
