Actor and racer Ajith Kumar experienced another accident this weekend while participating in a practice session prior to the race in Estoril, Portugal. In a statement made during the session, he described the incident as a 'bad crash' but reassured that he was in good condition. He also expressed gratitude towards his team for their assistance in promptly repairing his car.

A video shared on Ajith’s fan page on YouTube features the actor discussing his experience during a practice run. He expresses his excitement about returning to racing, stating, “It is wonderful to be racing here in Estoril on the track. Sitting in the car on the circuit feels quite surreal. This is truly a proud moment for me. The circuit is very technical, and I am pleased to see my timing improving. Overall, it has been a good weekend.”

He goes on to mention that he experienced a crash during the practice session but fortunately emerged unscathed, remarking, “This morning was quite disastrous during practice when I crashed. It was a significant crash. I am grateful to my team for quickly repairing the car and allowing me to proceed directly to the qualifying round. It was a nerve-wracking moment for me, indeed.”

Ajith also conveyed his joy that his fans have started to engage with the sport out of their admiration for him, saying, “I am thrilled that they have begun to follow this sport that I am so passionate about. I am immensely grateful not only to my fans but also to everyone back home who has been supporting me and showing interest in my activities. I extend my heartfelt thanks to all of them.”

His previous crash in Dubai

Ajith's recent incident occurred a month after he collided with a barrier during a practice session for the 24H Dubai race. His team communicated this information to stating, “Indeed, he narrowly avoided a serious accident when his race car struck the barrier at approximately 12:45 pm. The security personnel on-site acted swiftly. Ajith transitioned to another race car, as the previous one was rendered unusable, and he resumed practice. Fortunately, he emerged unscathed.”

Ajith was last featured in Vidaamuyarchi and is set to appear in Good Bad Ugly. He has made it clear that he will only participate in film shoots during off-seasons from racing.
