Magizh Thirumeni's film Vidaamuyarchi, featuring Ajith Kumar and Trisha Krishnan in prominent roles, premiered in theaters on February 6. On the opening day, Trisha and Regina Cassandra attended the first screening alongside enthusiastic fans. Numerous videos have emerged online depicting Ajith's supporters celebrating the film's release, with some individuals escalating the festivities by clashing with law enforcement, igniting firecrackers within the theater, and engaging in other disruptive behaviors.
Ajith Kumar fans create a ruckus
One particularly viral video on X (formerly Twitter) captures fans recording a pivotal scene while others set off firecrackers inside the theater, disregarding the associated fire risks. The caption accompanying the video humorously states, “Ani (Anirudh Ravichander) on duty. Theatre on fire.”
Additional footage reveals police officers grappling with the unruly crowd, which remained unresponsive to their requests. In one instance, an officer is seen holding a fan's t-shirt while others surround him, arguing until he departs. Another individual appears to mediate between the police and the fans in the packed theater.
In a separate video, law enforcement is seen urging a fan to calm down, despite his persistent shouting of Ajith Kumar's name. The officer, attempting to manage the situation, momentarily smiles at the fans' enthusiasm before reiterating the need for decorum.
Fans turn screening into concert
Conversely, some videos depict a more joyous atmosphere, with fans dancing to the song "Sawadeeka" from the film within the theaters. One cinema in Chennai shared a clip showcasing the audience erupting into dance as soon as the song began.
Another video captures fans tossing confetti, removing their shirts, and dancing exuberantly to the track featuring Ajith and Trisha.
Additionally, one clip shows fans forming a line near the screen, facing the audience, and energetically dancing to "Sawadeeka," while the rest of the audience cheers them on.
