Ajay Devgn: Today's Film Audiences Demand Perfection
1 day ago | 5 Views
Ajay Devgn has shared his thoughts on how Bollywood has evolved over the years. He pointed out that there's a big shift in how audiences react to newcomers now compared to when he started out. Back in the day, people were more lenient and would often let mistakes slide. Nowadays, he feels that audiences are pickier and less forgiving, which makes it tougher for fresh talent trying to break into the industry.
Ajay thinks back
At the trailer launch for his upcoming movie, Azaad, Ajay reflected on how the film industry has evolved since he first joined Bollywood, according to Freepress Journal.
He mentioned, “Back in the day, we learned while working on films. There was plenty of time and freedom to pick up new skills. The audience was more forgiving, and they let our mistakes slide. Nowadays, the audience is much more informed and less forgiving. This puts a lot of pressure on both new and established actors. They need to be ready to hit the ground running!”
Ajay also noted, “I believe this generation is much more equipped. Everyone aims to put their best foot forward in the end.”
He expressed his excitement about working on Azaad, especially because it allowed him to film scenes with horses. He reminisced about a time when many films featured horses prominently..
What’s in store for Ajay?
Ajay is gearing up for his next role in Abhishek Kapoor’s period drama, Azaad. This film will also mark the debut of Ajay's nephew, Aaman Devgn, alongside Raveena Tandon's daughter, Rasha Thadani. The trailer dropped on Monday and highlights a horse that shows unwavering loyalty to Ajay's character, a dacoit (or rebel). Diana Penty is also in the mix, playing Ajay’s love interest, along with Mohit Malik.
Produced by Ronnie Screwvala and Pragya Kapoor, Azaad tells a touching story about the strong bond between humans and animals, touching on themes of love, loyalty, and bravery. Set in pre-Independence India, it follows the journey of 19-year-old Govind and his unique relationship with an extraordinary horse, while also exploring the intricacies of the dacoit and zamindari systems. The film is set to hit theaters on January 17.
