
Ajay Devgn Highlights Content Over Promotions at Raid 2 Trailer Launch

At the launch of the Raid 2 trailer on Tuesday, Ajay Devgn shared his insights on the changing landscape of the film industry and the hurdles Bollywood is facing at the box office.
Devgn noted that the industry is currently dealing with a lot of uncertainty. "We're still figuring things out. We're not entirely sure what will draw audiences in. We've seen how viewers have shifted during the pandemic, especially with the rise of international content on streaming platforms," he mentioned. "So, we're adjusting to these changes, and that's influencing how we create our films."
He pointed out that this uncertainty isn't just a Bollywood issue. "It's not only Bollywood films that are struggling; movies worldwide are encountering similar challenges. Some succeed, while others don't. Whether it's Bollywood, the South film industry, or Hollywood, the situation is pretty much the same everywhere," Devgn added.
Ajay also emphasized the significant role audiences now play in determining what they want to watch. "The audience is in control of their viewing choices. They're no longer swayed by film promotions. What matters to them is the content. If your trailer resonates, if the teaser is appealing, and if they enjoy the songs, then they'll definitely show up. It really comes down to what they want to see," he explained.
Raid 2, directed by Raj Kumar Gupta, stars Ajay Devgn, Vaani Kapoor, Riteish Deshmukh, and Saurabh Shukla, and is set to hit theaters on May 1, 2025.
