Kannada actor Krishna Ajai Rao is gearing up for the upcoming release of his film, Yuddhakaanda Chapter 2, a courtroom drama that explores the theme of delayed justice, where he portrays a lawyer. Ajai has taken on the role of producer for this project, which is directed by Pavan Bhat and is set to hit theaters soon. This marks Ajai's second venture into film production, a strategic choice aimed at advancing his career.

When Ajai first took on the role of producer for Krishna Leela, it was due to the shared vision he and director Shashank had for the story's value and potential. Although Shashank was eager to produce the film himself, given his roles as writer and director, Ajai believed it was more appropriate for him to assume that responsibility. He was confident that this choice would prove to be a wise one.

Years later, Ajai finds himself in the producer's role once more, a decision he attributes to his thorough analysis of why his films had been underperforming at the box office. He discovered that many film teams approaching him had already secured deals with television channels for satellite rights, leading them to create films based on predetermined budgets rather than assessing the financial needs of the story itself. He illustrates this point by noting that a scene requiring a Mercedes might instead feature a Maruti 800 due to budget constraints.

The actor found himself unable to challenge their decisions, as doing so would be perceived as a display of petulance, a sentiment that would quickly circulate. "My concern is that when a film does not perform well, the lead actor is labeled a flop. However, when a film succeeds, many individuals share in the credit," he explains, further stating, "Producing films that align with an actor's market value is a significant challenge." He emphasizes that producers must first have confidence in the narrative, as well as the cast and crew. "One cannot solely rely on the lead actor," Ajai asserts.
