Sudipar Rannaghar ended its journey on December 31, 2022. Many reality shows came at this slot after that, but none could create a mark in the audience. Subsequently, the channel, Zee Bangla, has decided to bring Rannghar back. However, Konineeca Banerjee will replace Sudeepa Chatterjee as the host. What did Konineeca say about her new role?

Konineeca is coming back to television after a long time. She underwent a long surgery recently. She is not yet quite well. Her mother has been unwell. Hence, though she has returned to films and web series, she does not want to go back to the serials right now. However, she has no objection to reality shows. In an interview with Ei Samay, she said, “I can’t do a mega serial right now. I can’t give you that much time. My daughter is the most important factor now. I want to give her time and make no compromise in this respect. Besides, my voice is still hurting due to the surgery. My mother is unwell. So, I am struggling with everything.” 

Konineeca said that she agreed to do the show because of her mother who loves watching it. She previously worked in three films with the show’s unit, and hence they were known to her. 

Often she is compared with Sudeepa Chatterjee since Sudeepa used to be a personification of the show. Konineeca said, “I left everything to the audience. But there is no comparison with Sudeepa. She came to prominence through this show. She hosted it successfully. When she worked, there was not much social media. Nowadays everything is available online in two minutes.”

Earlier, when the show was announced, the audience said that they wanted Sudeepa again. It remains to see how much they accept Konineeca.
