As she announced during the April premiere of Amar Singh Chamkila by Imtiaz Ali, Parineeti Chopra is back and staying put. As per the latest reports, the actor has recently signed up for her first film following her September 2023 wedding to Raghav Chadha, leader of the Aam Aadmi Party.
Upcoming romantic comedy on Netflix
Peeping Moon has reported that Parineeti's return to Bollywood is imminent and that she will be starring in a romantic comedy for Netflix. The film's specifics are currently under wraps, but rumor has it that the principal shooting will take place in Goa and Mumbai in two weeks. The last time Parineeti was on set was in August 2022, when Akshay Kumar and she recorded a song for Mission Raniganj. Since then, she has taken a fifteen-month break, but she is eager to return to the film industry.
Creative collaboration with fresh talent
This project is a collaboration between Parineeti and some fresh creatives. Joshua Shirsath is the producer, and debutant Dhruv Tripathi is the director. At the Moscow International Short Film Festival, Tripathi won Best Screenplay, and at the Indian World Film Festival, he was named Best Director. His previous work, the highly praised short film 10×10ft, has been shown at approximately 20 film festivals worldwide. Tripathi is also responsible for several short films, including Intezaar and Fogg Fine. With this untitled film, Shirsath will make his production debut; he has a background in creative production, having worked on films such as Rashmi Rocket, Kacchey Limbu, and Dhak Dhak.
Parineeti has collaborated with Ribhu Dasgupta on The Girl On The Train and Imtiaz Ali on Amar Singh Chamkila, which co-starred Diljit Dosanjh, making this romantic comedy her third joint venture with Netflix India. With the completion of this project, Parineeti hopes to begin a new phase of her career and return to full-time employment in the new year.
Future prospects
According to reports, she is also considering several high-budget films and a web series, but so far, no progress has been made on them.
