In an impressive achievement, the series Adolescence has soared to a prominent position on Netflix's most-watched TV rankings, outpacing numerous critically acclaimed programs. Garnering an astonishing 96.7 million views, it has eclipsed the audience numbers of both Stranger Things 3 and Bridgerton season 2.
Adolescence dethrones Stranger Things 3
The series has achieved a remarkable milestone by securing the ninth position on Netflix's all-time list of most popular English-language TV series, amassing an impressive 96.7 million views. This accomplishment has led to Stranger Things Season 3, which garnered 94.8 million views, being pushed down to the tenth position, while Bridgerton Season 2, with 93.8 million views, has been entirely removed from the list.
The success of Adolescence is particularly noteworthy as it reached 96.7 million views within just 17 days. To provide context, Netflix's rankings for most popular series are based on a 91-day viewership period, indicating that Adolescence still has over two months to further its success.
Currently, the most-watched show on Netflix remains Squid Game, while the leading English-language series is Wednesday.
Adolescence once again dominated the English TV charts, accumulating 30.4 million views from March 24 to March 30, and it made the Top 10 in all 93 countries where the Top 10 is available.
In the weekly English TV rankings, Shonda Rhimes’ The Residence secured the second position with 8.8 million views during its first full week on the platform. Netflix's new reality series, Million Dollar Secret, debuted at No. 3 with 3.7 million views. In the film category, The Life List rose to the top with 24.4 million views, while The Electric State followed in second place with 7.6 million views.
